This house is on the State and National Registry of Historical Houses. This Victorian house was built at the turn of the century and is one of the few of its kind left in Taos. A national award was won for the restoration of this building. The unusual construction includes frame walls filled with adobe bricks! All the original doors, windows, and floors were used in the restoration. The house is set back from the road and is surrounded by beautiful gardens of flowers and trees.Six Victorian style rooms await you. We have over thirty rooms at our exquisite B&B. Each room is individually decorated with local flavor - there's surely one to strike your fancy. |

| A Gourmet Breakfast to Begin the Day |

Tom and Barbara McCarthy presides from an open, airy kitchen facing onto the breakfast room, decorated with handmade furniture, Mexican pottery and cheery pink and purple tablecloths. Sunlight streams through the glass wall of the breakfast room, creating the illusion of eating outdoors. In summer, it's no illusion because breakfast is served on the courtyard.
Barbara and Tom's extravagant breakfast includes: yogurt, raspberries or peaches, homemade "drop dead" granola (Barbara's secret recipe which she's refused to give out, even to Bon Appetit and Gourmet magazines), an assortment of muffins, Mexican eggs, jalapeno salsa, tortillas and waffles, french toast or pancakes. Afternoon tea and homemade cookies and cakes are a delight for everyone. |

From Denver, 300 miles south on I-25 to Walsenberg, west on US 160 to Fort Garland and south on Colorado 159, which becomes NM 3.
From Albuquerque, take I-25 north to Santa Fe, 285 to Española, then 68 north to Taos. At main intersection, go 1 block east on 64 (Kit Carson Road). |
