BEST PLACES TO VISIT

WHITE SANDS NATIONAL MONUMENT

If you go to the south of New Mexico, you will find the Tularosa Basin which is a northern part of the Chihuahua Desert, and that is the location of the White Sands National Monument. The color of the sand is white, and it shaped the landscape surrounded by the mountains with large dunes that are constantly displaced by wind.

BANDELIER NATIONAL MONUMENT

This volcanic landscape hides some of the best archaeological ruins in the stat. This area is the former home of Pueblo people that carved structures into volcanic rock. There are many hiking trails, campsites, and a museum in this park.

PETROGLYPH NATIONAL MONUMENT

The best thing about Petroglyph National Monument is petroglyphs images that were carved in the basalt by early Spanish settlers and indigenous peoples. It is believed that there are 20,000 petroglyphs within the park.

BILLY THE KID MUSEUM

If you are a western movie fan this place has to be on your to-do list. Fort Sumner in the eastern plains of New Mexico is the last resting place for the infamous Billy the Kid. Sheriff Pat Garrett was faster on the trigger than Bill the Kid at the nearby Fort Sumner State Monument. In the museum, you can see Kid’s rifle, horse riding equipment, and the original wanted poster.

UFO MUSEUM AND RESEARCH CENTER

For all UFO fans, Roswell and the international UFO Museum are ‘holy places’. You can find many documents, eye-witnessing accounts, and artifacts connected to UFO research.
