| Room Descriptions | Casa Benavides is located 1/2 block east of Taos Plaza. All the buildings are historical, of adobe construction with viga ceilings (some with cedar latillas), most with wood burning fireplaces, private baths with Mexican tiles, air conditioning and/or ceiling fans, cable TV, VCR’s, covered portals and extensive colorful gardens. Each room is individually decorated with local flavor using handmade furniture, antiques and artistic treasures. Each room has down comforters and luxury linens. There is a massage room, two outdoor hot tubs, handicapped accessibility, and on the premises parking . Included is a “KILLER” breakfast and fantastic afternoon tea with home baked goodies served in a colorful dining room filled with early Taos artist’s paintings; all for your comfort and pleasure by Innkeepers who pay attention to detail.

| A NOTE FROM THE INNKEEPERS | ROOM RATES ARE BASED ON DOUBLE OCCUPANCY, $15.00 PER EXTRA PERSON. This is a non-smoking Inn, but smoking is permitted outdoors. Children are welcome. Cribs are furnished free of charge. Parent or adult must accompany all children under 18 years of age when using hot tub. We can accommodate small conference groups. Sorry, no pets.

| Main Building | Historical, it was the first art gallery in Taos and home of Tom Lewis, an artist, and his wife Sallie Lewis. This adobe building has been renovated and enlarged by the McCarthy’s who bought it in May, 1988. It includes the office, kitchen, and dining room. Located on the corner of Kit Carson Road and Dragoon Lane and across the street from the E.I. Couse Studio, this is where Barbara, her sister Gail and brother Chuck grew up. It was built by her father, Carlos, for his wife, Ruth. The four downstairs rooms open on to a flagstone patio with trees and pots of flowers. The two upstairs rooms open to a covered portal and overlook the eastern mountains & patio below. The high walls and “Taos Blue” gates close out the rest of the world. |
